Is ear wax removal painful?

Most patients find microsuction completely comfortable. You will hear a suction noise, but there is no water involved and no pain. If your ears are very blocked, you may feel some pressure as the wax is removed. We always advise using 2 drops of olive oil 2-3 times a week 2 weeks prior to your appointment. This will help to soften the wax.

How do I know if I need Ear Wax Removal?

The common signs include muffled hearing, a feeling of fullness in the ear, ringing (tinnitus) or discomfort. A hearing health check will confirm if wax is the issue.

How long does an appointment take?

The appointment is 45 minutes. This allows time for Katie to asses the ear or ears and carry out treatment if needed.

Is the service suitable for Children?

Holgate Hearing Health appointments at Innersense Aesthetics Medical are only available for adults aged 18 years and upwards.

Can I drive after the appointment?

Yes, you can resume your normal activities immediatly. We advice not to get the ear wet for 48 hours following treatment. Applying cotton wool to the ear for showering will be fine.
