Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

What is PRP Facial Rejuvination?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy (also known as the vampire face lift) is a cosmetic procedure which is a revolutionary treatment which gathers your own blood platelets to combat the signs of ageing. Made famous recently by Kim Kardashian who openly posted images on social media of her treatment. Platelets contain a high content of growth factors which when injected into the skin trigger surrounding cells to multiply and increase volume by stimulating collagen which will repair and rejuvenate the skin.

What are the advantages of the PRP facial?

Predominantly PRP therapy is used on the face and can help create a more youthful and radiant bloom. PRP can also help to combat stretch marks as well as reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten and tone the skin as well as reduce acne scarring and rosacea.

What is the process?

A small sample of blood is taken from the client and placed into a centrifuge system and spun at a high speed to produce the PRP. The PRP is then superficially injected during a procedure called micro needling into the problem areas of the skin.

How long after the PRP injections till I see a change?

Effects can be immediate and over the next few weeks as collagen begins to grow and generate more and more healthy cells underneath the skin. It may be that the Nurse suggests a course (usually three) in order to maximise your results.

What are the side effects?

The procedure has minimal downtime. You may experience some bruising, swelling and redness but generally a beautiful glow is achieved which will continue to improve. You may also experience some tenderness at the injection site that should settle within a few days. It is paramount that you wear a SPF 50 to protect your rejuvenated skin.
